Elko Women's Health Center began in 1994 with founding physician George A. Winch, Jr., M.D. Dr. Winch had previously been associated with a group practice in Elko. He then opened his private practice with a focus on providing the best & most cost-effective health care available to women of all ages in Northeastern Nevada.
Back then, the practice was simply called "Dr. Winch's Office". Marian Z. Groff, C.N.M.,M.S.N., a certified Nurse-Midwife joined him in 1998. In 2001, the practice was renamed "ELKO WOMEN'S HEALTH CENTER". Our most recent addition to the practice is Dr. Dama A. Ziworitin, who joined the team in 2010.
Today, Elko Women's Health Center is the largest privately owned OB/GYN practice in Northeastern Nevada. Elko Women's Health Center has stayed true to the beliefs that it was founded on, that everyone is entitled to compassionate, caring, quality & cost effective health care - a commitment not only shared by the providers but also by the entire staff.
